Sounds like a great way to have an idea of what they are actually saying instead of what our news media says they said. Only issue is the translation. And for the record I believe the poll should read speech but I could be wrong.

"balanced reporting", one of the poll choices is an interesting concept. I guess balanced depends on who is reporting what and what people who are watching think of that reporting. One of the reasons I like fta is because I can watch news from around the world, I think that is a good thing, if people don't want to watch.....change the channel.

Yes it would be very interesting to see what Al-Jazeera has to say, I have seen Al-Jazeera on DISH Networks at my friends house, nothing I cant live without and yes they are a bit bias to Arab Nationalism among other things. But the other view is always interesting, there has to be some sort of balance..

I never saw more objective news channel in NA than Al-jazirah did in the middle-east. So please stop talking about objectivity/subjectivity

If the administration feels it's necessary to have large computers to keep records of who you are calling. They will surely want to find a way to track who is watching Al-Jazeera. (Will the cable companies have to turn over records next) I would love to have the opportunity to hear another side even if it slanted. But fear Record Keeping will follow.

Balance is seldom that, but used as more of an indicator of whether we agree with the voice or not. First amendment rights died in this country long before I was born. A sufficient example for me is that I must put up FTA to see dissention non-approved by the gov't.

I can't wait for Al- to hit T5. There would be far less of the so-called turmoil in the middle east if the US foreign policy wasn't there. I never bought into the idea that it's been going on there for centuries- nowhere near like it is now and we are a signficiant contributing factor.

You Need to do a lot of studying, about the Middle East!!! Start with the Bible

I would like to see Al-Manar also. Banning it is not good as someone could decide to ban this board and prohibit discussion of FTA! Old phrase, keep your friends close but keep your enemies closer. From what I've been able to find, it is only available on Arabsat 2B, it got yanked from Hispsat, etc. Seems like everyone "flipped out" at the prospect of it being received here in the states and stopped it.
