American TV Here you could discuss what is available as FTA American channels on satellite. No discussion of hacking encrypted channels or know how related to that matter is allowed. Discuss only channels that have been listed publicly on lyngsat. Non-public FTA channels should be discussed in the New Finds forum only.

Reading LingSat pages

How do you read the LingSat pages? For example when I go to Galaxy 10R, how do I know what is free and what is encoded or not free?

Regards,
Larry

White and yellow are FTA, see the colour codes on the bottom of the Lyngsat page.

  • Color codes of the satellite charts: See the button of this chart http://www.lyngsat.com/ia5.html
  • Any channel that has in the middle column is Free To Air (FTA)
  • Look at the first column, if the freq is between
    • 3700 - 4200 MHz that is C-Band (requires a big dish 6'+ )
    • 10700 - 12750 MHz That is KU Band (requires a smaller dish ( 18"+ for DSS, or 30"+ for FTA)
