American TV Here you could discuss what is available as FTA American channels on satellite. No discussion of hacking encrypted channels or know how related to that matter is allowed. usually you need to only know frequency/polarity/symbol rate: ex. (11990 V 28665) to get a channel.

polarities can be Horizontal or vertical for linear LNBs and right or left polarity for circular LNBs. Ku band has frequencies with 5 digits.. if its 4 then it's c-band.

Reading Lyngsat Data

I just had to manually enter Cubavision on my coolsat:

Go to lyngsat.com and look for info under Hispasat 1D.
Search down to Cubavision.
You can see that the frequency on the left is 11884, the polarity is V.
On the top row of the several rows indicating what is on 11884, slide across and you will find the Signal Rate being indicated as 27,500. The -3/4, info is not needed on my unit, at least.
Slide across Cubavision to the column under the Signal Rate and you will find the VPID of 101 (Video PID) and the Audio PID (APID) of 201. My Coolsat had another PID type, but this can be left blank and will work fine.
If you have to enter it, I believe it is the same number as the VPID.

This is all you need to manually enter a channel. You do, of course, need to go ahead and scan for it. Sometimes channels are not picked up on Blind Scan and you must enter it manually, this was the case for me on all the Cuban channels.
