Telsat 11 bird on Dish 500

Hello gang,

I live near Philadelphia, PA and wanted to set up my Dish 500 to watch Telsat 11 and Echostar 61.5. I've heard that I need to correct set up the skew in order to see both birds.

My question is about LNB. May I use Dish Network LNB to receive Telsat 11 signal or I need to get another LNB ?

Is RTR-Planeta comes down unscrambled ?

Thanks

You need a bigger dish than that to receive T11, you would need a DVB receiver as well (dish receivers are preset for Dish network) and you need a Universal or standard LNB.

Hello vj9999,

I recently bought Pansat 2500. What about my existing DishNet LNB (dual output). Will it work to get Telesat 11 or I need to get another LNB ?

Why do I need to get bigger dish then Dish 500 in Philadelphia for T11?

Has anyone had sucess with Dish500 and T11 bird?

General rule is that you need at least 30" dish for any linear Ku satellites. Signal on these satellites is not as strong as Dish or Directv satellites so you need a bigger dish. I am not Dish Network expert, but its LNB is circular and T11 uses linear polarity.

Your best bet would be to get a separate dish and LNB for T11 (and if you want to fully enjoy everything Ku has to offer, invest in motorized system).

Check out Fortec dishes and LNBs that Sadoun is selling.

Thank you vj9999 for great information.

I've got a lot of trees aroud the house and that was the reason why I wanted to try to get both birds on one dish. Motor is out of the question :-(( I already have Dish 500 installed (poined at 61.5).

Do you know of any Fortec or other dishes comparatble with dish500 mast ?

Also, is it possible to attach both Dish single LNB and Fortec on together to Fortec dish?

Thank you

You can attach Dish LNB and Fortec LNB along side each other. My guess id that Fortec dish should be able to with on Dish500 mast (but only a guess).

The only problem I see is that those 2 satellites are 24 degrees apart and it would be very hard to get them on the same dish and it would require some custom work done to the dish. Maybe there is someone here who did itand can advise better.

I think that SuperDish is too small to receive T11. You need at least 30"+ dish.

VJ,

I found some russian channels on Galaxy 11 bird (91). Not sure wether they encrypted or not (Lyngsat confuses me) I'm using ChannelMaster GainMaster Dish (oval) with 91 (BEV) in the middle and 101(DTV) on the Right (if you look from the front of the dish).

If I add another LNB to the dish. Will I be able to get Galaxy 11 on the same dish ? Do I need C-band or Ku-band lnb?

Thanks

THere is no c-band lnb for offset dishes. To receive c-band you will need a big dish (6'+ although people generally recommend at least 8'). I never used C-band so I can't help you much with that.
