Uh, yeah. I'm already on G19. There are no LOCAL Tv stations on there that I know of.

I'm talking about "normal" stations, (eg, generic call letters like KXYZ, or WYYY).

I see a few here and there on various other sats.

    be236,

Here on the East coast as far as the Ku band is concerned, I pick up no stations with specific US call signs. About 2 years ago there was one bird that had a number of Western stations that were carried on FTA, mostly with K prefixes, and they were great for viewing what was going on out West but alas they are gone from FTA (at least for now).

The only one that would come in second place to what you are seeking is 125W, they have some PBS stations from Oklahoma and Louisiana. Sometimes even Montana PBS comes in and you might catch some local programs on that.

To get a listing of all stations on FTA check out Skyvision.com or Lyngsat.com, they have updates of what can be seen on the satellites. Best of luck and enjoy FTA.

I had mine on galaxy 17 91W it has the CW on C band, but really nothing on Ku, ummm i think retro tv is still on 83W ku if u can find it, but if you in a rural area do what i did. What I did was go back to good old antenna, or should i say new digital antennas.

Many people think its like the old days with snow pictures, but antennas with digital receivers send local channels all in HD crystal clear and local providers now do what they call "multicasts" so instead of just channel 2, you get 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.4 from just 1 digital channel you really get 3 or 4...i am about 60-100miles from local towers, so got the proper antenna, i added an outdoor 40 db amp from radioshack and I purchased the antenna channel master CM3671 deepest fringe from the internet(about 170bucks), 2 10ft antenna poles from radioshack and note you got to point these antennas backwards to where you want the signal as more digital signals are UHF, I get 40 something local channels if I point it to the south and 30 something channels if i point it to the north and some odd channels more than 100miles away depending on where i point it.This is in Florida, i dont know how much more rural it can get than this but It all depends on where u at and how far u are from the towers..and those fancy looking "HD"" antennas are crap especially the ones from walmart, only ones with some potential from Sadoun.com are the 8 bays antennas but those are medium range <60miles...use antennaweb.org to find out if it would be worth it to get an outdoor antenna or get radioshack to get you a proper install.
My FTA system is actually just to suppliment my local service with international for news etc..my local channels dont freeze and dont go out in the daytime or when it rains i just readjust and its back up..it can be done for anyone if its installed properly keeping the input wire to the receiver from the amp as SHORT as possible <30ft. I get nbc, cbs, abc, fox, like 8 pbs channels, university/college education channels, bounce tv, me tv, thistv, ion,my65,wrdq, retrotv, if its local I u name it, i got it.There is no way I'd pay for local channels. Get a good outdoor antenna and check out antennaweb.org to see what zone antenna you need.

    Try QAM for local channels.

Cool I only pay for internet for At&t Uverse broadband that like $40, netflix steaming is $8 local-FREE FTA free been this way for 2 years. Some people may not know that cable companies also have a type of "FTA" its called QAM thats why flat screens come with QAM tuners, you can pay for internet only from the cable company and get free locals in HD with the QAM tuner on your tv or PC. I was thinking about cutting at&t internet for cable internet and getting my locals via QAM, but the cable company here charges like 55 for cheapest broadband. Comcast had NBAtv, and Sunsports on their QAM when i used to live in jacksonville.

Want to know what local channels you may get with QAM or with a good digital antenna?, go here enter zip code, then on provider grid choose you cable company with the arrow.

no I dont work for silicondust and u dont need their box
