RTN on G10 @ 123W

Does anyone know whats up with RTN on G10 @ 123W?
A bunch of the feeds now have notices indicating the
network didn't get paid or some such dispute (I speculate)

I know that watching reruns of Knight Rider isn't good for
my brain...but I can't (couldn't) stop.

LOL. We got the same notice on our local OTA digital station for ABC 7.3, which I take it was the RTN broadcast.

Hello
Even there website is gone. http://www.rtnville.com
I'm gonna miss Emergency and Adam12, Dragnet. I really hated Unreliable Sources. Looks like more rough times in 2009. I have been watching PressTv
and Al Jazeera G25. Pretty sad stuff there. Huge difference between US
coverage on Fox, MSNBC and CNN and there satellite coverage.

It is sad. Guilty as I felt watching that stuff, it was good as
a background buzz as I worked elsewhere in the shop. Those
shows didn't require a huge chunk of my brain. Except for
McKales Navy (required the entire brain be shut down)

I have only just got the big dish (10' Channel Master fiber glass)
going with a cheap C band LNB. I found that same message on
RTN C feeds on 95W (?) but also some old movies that I'm into
as well.

Learning all the time.

RTN Signal Still Weak

I was hoping RTN would strengthen their signal at some point. Looks like a 36" Dish may be in my future now.

Can someone be more clear for me.. I am wondering what happened to the channels on 11.720 & 11.800 if I recall correctly they were rtn the vast majority anyway. And so I'm wondering if these channels are gone, on a different satellite or as someone stated above I need a stronger signal ??

Thank you!

If by RTN you mean Retrovision, I did a scan and got RTN East and RTN West, but it was either at 83W or 85W, can'r remember which, but try those two. Lots of great shows from the 70's - 90's.

So, is a 80 CM dish sufficient to pick these up? I cannot seem to get them on AMC9 from my northern Michigan location. AMC9 direction is very close to being affected by trees, so I'm not entirely sure if it's an obstruction issue or something else. I'm in a heavily wooded area and picked the best spot to receive most of the arc, but 123W was my top priority. Does anyone get these with a 80CM (31 in) dish?

Hi
I notice that I get a good signal from other channels or transponders on 83.0West. Could it be a beamed signal? Maybe a weak transponder.
I'm planning on putting up a 36" dish to get a reliable signal on RTN.
I have great signal also with satellites 87 and 72. I think its a weak
transponder.

Probably..................................
Although I watched Rockford Files last night with a Q of 42 and it was fine no loss of signal.

Hi
If the weather is not perfect here in Chicago. Like rain, snow, crappy day I have some break up.
I don't mind putting up a dedicated dish for 83.0W just so I always have that perfect picture.
I'm glad that I'm not the only person watching this great channel.

I tried today at about 4:30est all I got was audio, but it was broken up.
It was complete overcast.
When we live in this area we get alot of that especially thru the winter, plus we get the lake affect snows. Not looking forward to this winter.

I'm looking for a 36inch dish to try. I'm going to see if I can borrow one to try out to see if a larger dish will get a stable signal. I presently have a 31inch Fortec Star motorized dish.

Western NY, my 4 foot dish gets RTV reliably.
Only when it thunderstorms very hard do I ever lose the picture.

Well that's good to know that a 4 foot will work. It's a big dish I would if the 7.5 prime focus dish would work. I'm thinking of putting it on the cement with some cinder blocks to try it out.
