Echostar 5 FTA status/programming

Hi,

This is my first post.

I've searched the forums prior to this pos but have found no related threads.

Can someone tell me what the status is of Echostar 5?

I'm looking for some of the circular polarized FTA programming that's supposed to be available.

Secondly, I notice that my Fortec Lifetime Ultra does not have a listing for this particular satellite.

Any advice or info would be very much appreciated.

Thanks

I just wanted to make sure that I got this.

Is there a FTA PBS station on Echostar 5?

I guess that would be WOUB-TV, is that correct?

Thanks for your reply and help on this,

John

This may not actually belong in this thread, but it pertains to FTA on a dish network sat.

On the echostars @ 148 (echostar 1+2 I think) I saw a listing for a handful of local channels out of Grand Rapids Mich.
Are these channels actually there and is it a spot beam or a wide continental beam?

I found the listing on satcodx.com and since my only circular lnbf is attached to my old Directv dish, (which is pointed at the echostar 7 @ 119) I didn't want to move the stationary dish to a channel list that wasn't there.

I am only receiving NASA on the Echostar 7 @ 119 so 7 or 8 channels would be more then the one NASA.

Thanks.
Bill

Not sure Bill. I'll have to see if I can get my dish over that far and check it out.

Edit - checked tonight - nothing in the clear but a bunch of dish promo channels

Great, Thank you very much... I would be glad to take the wrenches to the DTV dish and move it if there was something there, but I'm not even sure if I have a clear line of sight on that one, (there is a hill to my west).

I was excited about maybe getting all of the networks on one satellite though.

Bill
