The dish fairy
Got given a Channel Master 1.0M offset dish yesterday. Now I have 4 Ku dishes available to put up (and I have space). One will remain fixed on the PBS Ku feeds. Given the other 3- and the fact I can accomidate them, what other sats would you guys reccommend to point at?
Intelsat 5 would be an odvious choice for international, but I like watching feeds and backhauls, sports, etc.
Also have the BUD c/ku/corotor that is steerable for DXing
And a 6 ft Andrew prime focus if I figure out how to make a polar mount for it.
But for the little dishes, where is the coolest watching?

My choice would be:
1. CNBC/MSNBC/NBC
2. ABC News Now
3. G10 for other english and some spanish stuff.

little is relative. I mean FTA "little" not the DN stuff we have also.
G10 so far- any other suggestions?
We do watch a lot of PBS. I like to find cool feeds- like the live shot uplinks or sports. I watched the Superbowl one year with natural audio- no commentators or commercials. And another year with the international commentators explaining american football to the rest of the world. Again- no commercials.

Larry, that's what I meant - 1 meter dish opposed to 10 foot Cband.
I didnt know CNBC, MSNBC, and NBC were available on FTA.
NBC maybe on the Virgin Islands channel I knew about, and I'm not even sure thats still active.

Some combination of these are almost always available (especially on the weekends) on 72. Most of the time I catch NBC with MSNBC on at the same time at night, with NBC & CNBC in the afternoon. Since I'm not home much during the week, I dont know how often it's up...

what do you think of the H180 motor on the 6 foot dish now that you've used it a while?

I discussed these channels in a previous thread which even you had contributed to. Rescan 72W, these channels will show up as SATOPS.

now that you mention it, I do remember that now...
I think I did rescan a few times since that post a few months ago, and found nothing.
Just rescanned a few mins ago based on bibbler's post, found Telemundo and something else, but no MS or CSNBC .

Try again in the morning. These are feeds, so one minute you are watching a show, and when the cut to commerical, the whole tv goes dark- no sound, no picture. Another feed, you can read the what they are about to say. One other feed, the cameras are rolling and catches people getting makeup, adjusting their ties, drinking coffee, etc.
You have to do a full power scan, these channels won't show up in FTA scan mode. Its on the same satellite as GBN. Please click on my reputation when get these channels

Your welcome, Enjoy. Remember these channels can change around quite a bit at some technicians whim. They are also low strength, probably becuase it is not meant for public viewing, so your dish needs to be dead on.
