I hadn't seen SatcoDx before, but found them quickly using google.
I don't care for their layout, and content seems to be missing on many of the program names (I looked at AMC3 - 87W). It looks like it's automatically generated by a blind scanner, and not hand "touched up" by humans much, which is something that seems necessary with satellite channels due to the sometimes obtuse names used in the stream.
Lyngsat was a little difficult to read at first, partially because of the multiple used for columns, where they put the provider name in the same column as the program name. But that just took a little training to read.
So, lyngsat has my vote, though I could imagine someone else stealing the title.

I use to like Lyngsat but now I'm using tracksat.com/footprintslist.asp. I find it interesting.

I prefer lyngsat. Could be just because that was the one I started with but it is far easier for me to read for my purposes.

people like Lyngsat, etc .. get all their information from contributors (from anyone .. - people like us) anyhow
They don't get it on their own (or at the least, SURELY not for all the birds that they list there)
So with them, it will depend on how good and efficient their contributors are, etc...

probably some private ones are good also .. but they are NOT for "all the eyes" .. and not publically advertized
those probably are restricted to certain people ONLY.. belonging to maybe private forums, private clubs, private forum sections, etc..
I am sure there are some around out there..
But again.. it would be hard to gain access to such places..
In any case, the best thing is to try to keep up with this game on your own!
It would be most accurate, etc way to do it, depending of course, on how good and accurate you are..
But i am sure, if you are doing it yourself, .. with time you will gain better skills to do it, and your chart(s), list(s) etc will get better and more efficient... (just not everyone is willing to do it themselves, understandably so)
Isn't there a saying after all.. something like "Noone knows you as well, and can help you as well as you YOURSELF" (or something like that)

There are and I am a member of one. As you state they are not public knowledge and not for general public consumption. The one I belong to is also a contribution from users setup.

Boy, I sure wouldn't use this one. In the majority of cases, it doesn't tell you what kind of format is being used, ie DCII, DVB, 4.2.2, 8psk, etc. I looked at about 5 satellites that I was familiar with. Every one had errors. Some of the errors looked like they were copied directly from Lyngsat (ie Lyngsat had the same errors). Other errors were that channels that were FTA in 4.2.2 were labeled as being scrambled. Some were just plain fabrications, such as channels that I've been watching on a daily basis for months were labeled as something completely different, with different SR values, etc, and the update date listed was within the past week. I didn't find one example of a channel, that actually existed, showing up here but not in Lyngsat. Also, the 2 or 3 footprints I looked up were pretty useless because they only give one of several footprints, and they aren't associated with the specific transponders. For examples several transponders beamed to the us showed footprints only visible in south america, etc.
Anyway, it's a nice looking list, but I have several problems with this list.
Re the original questions (not sure why this was asked multiple times), SatCodex is VERY outdated. You're lucky to see it updated within a year or two. The one good thing about SatCodex, is that you can use it to automatically update some receivers, however that is an almost useless feature since it isn't even close to current. Re the private lists, some of these are valuable, because often people aren't likely to post "good" finds in real public places like Lyngsat, and also some private lists use formats that are easily imported into spreadsheets, etc, however since there are more people using Lyngsat, I've found that although Lyngsat doesn't have a few things that might be found elsewhere, that it is really the most up to date source I've seen. I've only contributed to Lyngsat once, after seeing an incorrect entry there for several years, I decided to correct it. The webmaster wrote back and verified the info (I had a typo in my submission), which I thought was good, ie that he checks the info for accuracy (compared to this Tracksat thing that apparently doesn't check anything). However a few weeks after correcting the entry, someone went back in, and put the incorrect info back in, so I gave up. But that was just one example. For the most part, Lyngsat is pretty accurate.
However, the big problem with ALL such lists, is that while it may be easy for new finds to be listed, it is often VERY hard for incorrect info to be deleted, and the reason is pretty clear. If there has been a channel reported, and someone sees that he can't receive this signal, he doesn't know if he isn't receiving it because his system isn't sensitive enough, or the footprint of the signal goes elsewhere, or if the signal isn't 24/7, etc. So the absence of a signal is difficult to handle. It really pretty much requires the original poster removing the item. So with any list, you're likely to find signals listed which are no longer there. Lyngsat actually does a fairly good job of handling this, but you still have to take reported transponders with a grain of salt, and you have to pay attention to the update date (which apparently doesn't help with this tracksat site).

There is another one that i know of.. (for couple of years probably now)
It's design and looks are pretty good .. but it's doesn't "go too much West" there .. so prabably better for people in Europe etc.. Here it is anyhow:
FlySat Satellite Home
And here is the list of the satellites that they list there:
FlySat Sat List

After criticizing the tracksat site , I did notice one good thing about it, and that is, that they haven't gone to lengths to make it hard to copy/paste from the list. Ie with Lyngsat, if you try to copy/paste a satellite's channel list to something like Excel, it gets pretty scrambled up, and takes a lot of work to clean up the page, however this tracksat listing seems to copy/paste pretty straight-forward, and doesn't take long to import into a spreadsheet. So this may be a recommended way of starting your own listing. Ie import the listings from tracksat, then edit out the errors.
