In my opinion, you should not blame this on whoever made the suggestion. Things happens for no reasons. Maybe it works for him becuase he lives in an area where it does not rain often. Too many things to count for causing your lnbf dead...:-)
I have heard and seen folks doing the same thing as you did, and their lnbfs work fine.
Maybe you can email
Sadoun asking for a deal for both linear and circular and the overnight shipping cost. Just my opinion.
