Is it extra tough for a mechanic to get a dish ligned up?... ahem... I guess, it is the flying wrenches, and bad cussing that will make your dish spin on its own... I grew up around auto/tractor mechanics (uncle, father, etc) and know the feeling.
Take a deep breath, and follow my instructions...
~ Do a master reset on the receiver
~ Select a satellite you want to use to aim your dish (let's say T5)
~ After making sure that the motor is at 0 position.
~ Use a compass to line up everthying to TRUE SOUTH as much as you can eyeball it
~ Use USALS to move your Dish to T5
~ When the dish stops, check if you get a green signal/quality bars (make sure you use TP25 for
Telstar 5)
~ If no GREEN signal/Quality, move the whole motor/dish assemblly by hand East / West no more than 5 degrees to each direction.
~ If still no quality, Raise or lower the elevation on the Dish 1-2 degrees and sweep again the whole assembly by hand +/- 5 degrees
Good luck
