This sounds just like the problem I had with a
STAB HH-90 purchased in 2004, logic board replaced under waranty late 2004, it was doing the exact same thing when told to go to satellite it went full east or full west then returned to ZERO from day one but never returned to the satellite's location. It never actually ever got setup and the process failed. This was tested on 7 different receivers with the same result, so the problem was not the receivers. I replaced the motor with an
SG-2100 and now all works just fine on the same receivers and I have not looked back.
