dish on pole..
The dish that must have gotten zapped was on a steel pole. The pole is 36" into the ground and I guess will be a great ground.

Now I have just relocated the dish on an old shed with a metal roof. I guess I should make sure the metal roof is grounded.

The next project is to try again with the 6 ft. dish and H180 motor on the steel pole that got zapped....

As I understand it... the ground helps dissipate the static electric charge built up on any metal or object before the lightning can be attracted to it.
