Ok, I got my 36" dish with the Invocom Quad installed and most of the satellites are coming in great. It took me a couple of weekends to dig a trench and bury 3 coax and a 5 line 18 ga. power line to a new location on my property where I had planned a 180cm dish with 180H motor. Once it was installed for testing, a strong wind came through and snapped the motor. I never had any channels tuned for this tedious
installation. That is why I had so many lines to bury and I am without
C-band.
Anyway, I have about 170 feet of standard coax feeding my new 36" dish and all the channels come in clear and strong. Amazing. Before, I had a 31" dish mounted to my house with only about 40 feet of cable, so it wasn't ideal and intended to be temporary. This Invocom LNB seems to be clearer, but maybe it is the dish. It is something that I have 170 feet of cable. The moving of the motor even works with that distance.
The new location for the dish allows me to get more sky. I get 123deg now and there are loads of WB or MY stations. I am getting 72 to 123, but I can't get 45, or 58, which I did before (winter only) so I think my arc is a bit off.
I even put a 10 ft over the air tv antenna on my shed and connected with about 200 ft of cable run to my house tv and get pretty good reception. Now I can take the house tv antenna off the house. My house is only 36 feet long, so a 10 ft antenna would dwarf the house and the reason for putting it on the shed.
I will try connecting the DSS portion of the LNB to a switch with the linear LNB and see if any other channels come in. I know I have to do some toggling in my receiver and will surely get confused.
Thanks for your help Rainman and Teched.
