Over the years, I've installed all sorts of splitters/combiners and never noticed any effect from terminating the unused ports.
Yesterday, when installing the Diseqc SW41, I again noted the admonition to terminate those unused ports. I didn't because I hadn't brought any with me, but the signal quality and operation showed no degradation so I was simply wondering if anybody had ever encountered a case where it did.
