AC3-again

I have a new Cyberhome headset..........it works great with the headset but when I connect it to my TV audio input "yuk" . I have to turn my TV volume all the way up just to hear sound. I was listening to a channel on G10R the voice level was really low but the music came in really loud. Some channels came in better than others, with the TV volume all the way up. I thought it was the stereo "Y" cable I bought, so I got another one, same thing happened. I think I am not getting the proper sound channels out of the Cyberhome unit for R/L channels to the TV. I have the Mercury II set to S/PDIF and when I am viewing AC3 channels and I press the audio button on the remote it shows AC3 on the screen. So I believe I have it set up properly.
Has anybody tried to modify the Cyberhome unit ie rewire the headset to the RCA plugs expermenting with different wires.
Jim
