I am setting up the
SG2100 with a Fortec Star 90 cm dish. I wanted to have a pro look at my numbers before I move everything around to much.
I live in Lufkin, Texas. My latitude is 31.34211 and longitude is 94.71844. This makes my southern most sat. G3c?
Sadoun's magnetic declination table shows a 6 just to the left of the 0 that looks very close to where I am so it looks like I subtract 6 degrees from magnetic north?
I am using a pole mount. The pole is dead on plumb. The mounting bracket for the motor has a elevation scale on one side, not sue what it is for, and it has a latitude scale on the other. I believe that I am suppose to use the latitude scale set a 31 degrees?
Now I get lost assuming the above is correct. And that a big assumption as I am not real sure of that. Now the dish has an elevation scale on it that needs to be set. Using Sadoun's elevation scale for the SG2100 using my latitude of 31 I get a elevation angle of 59. Now do I subtract 30 from that? I get 29 degrees. But I not sure if the elevation table has already factored in this negative 30 degrees or not. I have set up about 6 DBS dishes and it looks like if I set the dish at 29 degrees I'm
aiming a little low.
Once I figure this all out I have a SF-95 sat. finder that I have used with finding the circular birds that I can use to help me. Currently I have a universal lnbf with lo set to 9750 connected to a DVB card in my computer. I have heard this is difficult to use to set all this up so if I have to I can move my Coship 3188c and a tv out by the dish to make it easier.
I would be really thankful if some one would verify the above set up and help me with any errors I have made.
