Okay, here is the photo. I hope this works. This is not the LNBF that I mentioned, but it is the same configuration. This new Orion LNBF just arrived that does only
C-Band, so I thought it might be a little easier to work with (cheaper) or at least I would have a spare to verify that the one I have is working. (Cheaper than getting a new dish.)
In this second photo, the LNB I mentioned is sitting on the ground.
Although I got my first beeps (with both LNBs) they didn't appear to be related to any specific sats-- it looks like frequency bleeding from other sats, which sometimes happens with my ku dishes. I usually take this for a positive omen, however, that there is something in the vicinity, but I haven't been able to prove that.
I don't really have a mast for this dish and I don't really have permission to put up a permanent configuration.
However, I had the idea that I could just "lean" this dish temporarily against my brick wall and get approximately any angle that I want (as I do with my Ku-band dishes sometimes).
There is an issue, however, that this material is really flimsy and may bend if it touches the ground and distort the shape.
I guess this is a big issue -- even on C-band.
Well, take a look . . .
too warped?
Also, on the C/Ku band LNBF, I don't really have an indication of "up". I have a little arrow on the top, so maybe that's it.
On the C-Band (only) LNB, it is apparent that it is well marked (30/ | / 0/ | /30) so I guess that is not an issue. I guess it may give me a clue as to "up" on the other LNB as it looks quite similar. It also has graduated markings of 34/36/38/40/42/ (apparently related to the scaler ring), so is this supposed to be inches or cms from the center? I suppose this is useful -- if it works. Funny it's not marked on my first LNB.
Okay, that's all on this one. Thanks for all the good info.
Bye,
