I'm only passing along some of the comments "I read"... even on this board. From what I remember it had to so with the way the LNBF illuminates the face of the dish. A lnbf designed for offset is purported to not be as good as one as designed for the correct dish type.

So thinking the way a camera operates, you;ve moved the camera back & forth to get a "focus", but now the angle of the lens either over the edges of the disk - or not enough (it doesn't see the whole dish).

The above is what I've inferred from reading other's comments.
Most of the references were guys in Mexico or Bahamas or Brazil asking about how to use Dish Network LNBF's on 8 foot dishes to steal Dish NEtwork signals - and the trouble they were having do so.

And now some speculation from me - maybe the dish is now too parabolic in shape to effectivley focus correctly on an offset LBNF to fully illimuminte the LNB.

With that all said do I have any practical and physical experience putting these together? no. Would I try it to see if it works? Absolutely!
