1) In order to locate true south...I should subtract 15 (the magnetic deviation since I am south of Los Angeles) from 180 and set my Azimuth
to 165.

I then should set the azimuth at 165 representing TRUE south?
CORRECT

2) My dish elevation the way I calculate it is 25.6. I set this elevation on my motor?
NO. This the dish elevation and not the motor elevation. You set the motor to 34.4 the same value as your latitude.

3) Is it correct to set the motor, pole and dish, to true South (165) and then after I have set it to true south..Turn on Usals and move the dish to the southern most sat...The way I calculate it is that my southern most sat should be either 116 or 119. Which one is it? and then after Usals moves the dish to the southern most satellite...I tune into the strongest transponder on that sat and then via USALS....all the other sats should fall into place.
That is correct.

Make sure the pol is 100% vertical (level)
