OK that's fine.
You'll want to move into something called 4DTV.
That will require a DSR922 C and Ku band analog and digigal DCII receiver, and a subscription to the services available there. There is still lots of stuff available on
C-band, but be advised that things are moving away from that. The services are still cheaper than cable or Directv, but they are climbing fast.
Be advised that they don't make DSR922 receivers anymore, and there is a battery on the motherboard that if it goes dead- it costs a lot to get the receiver fixed. So if you buy used make sure you get a guarantee. If you do get a good used working one (and it needs the battery change) ATS is the company that does that work.
ATS Electronics, Inc.
You will want to get a FTA receiver also (the Fortec models that
Sadoun sells) and "slave" it off your 4dTV receiver.
Connecting BUD C KU Band dish to one DVB receiver
You will want to join up on this forum:
4DTV Satellite Forum - The Best in Satellite TV
and do some reading there, on programming available (NPS is a seller of programming services)
NPS - Your One Call Solution - CBAND Satellite Programming C-band
Your used dish probably has an older C band LNB on it, and might need and update for Ku, you might just try it first but there are options for replacement. That can get kind of tricky (there are lots of models) and stuff like "corotors" that move the internal antenna from horizontal to vertical position. As you read more on the subject, you'll find out a lot of this stuff.
Now, be advised there isn't much
HD on 4DTV. There's some, but the small dish suppliers are way ahead of that in regard to HD. You can't record, you can only watch one channel at a time with Big Dish. If you can live with that, well then there you go. You will also need an addiitonal unit for your 922, called a HD201 if I remember correctly.
Good luck, come back with questions -- there's lots of guys here that fool with C band and are happy to help you out best we can.
