1881-A is on a distinguished road
I never did fall for the "contract" bribe that D/N wanted. In June 2003 I ordered my own PVR 508 receiver w/twin LNB's and a Model 301 receiver from a dealer in Springfield, Mo... costs $178.84 for all the goodies to install the dish. D/N had a installer in Okla. come and install it at no charge.
Before activation could be done, I ordered from D/N by "monthly" their America's Top 180 at$50.02 per month.
In September 2004, I stopped D/N. Since I own my own equipment, and was paying my monthly, with no contract, I didn't have to pay any fees.
I had a C-band (BUD) in the back yard that I went back to. However, the C-band analogs channels were fading away on C-band, and I went back to Dish Network in June 2005. Dish Network wanted $25.00 to re-activate my account. I told them ..NO Way.. They waived the $25.00 re-connect fee. I have since dropped D/N again...this past October. They sent me a "nice" letter, telling me they would like me to return and they will give me "two" months of free programming if I do so.

So, you can get out of a one year..2 year contract if you have the "know-how"... Tell them you will do to Direct TV..
