I have ignored
signal strength since I've not found it of much value on FTA receivers, but have concentrated on
signal quality metering. On my inlaws system it was necessary to tweak the positioning of the dish to restore full picture quality to a few channels. Channels that had been just fine on the Ultra (until it's demise). I had done a power scan initially to populate the channels.
I may try dithering the freq and SR values manually to see if any improvement can be had. I had been itching to play with the
Mercury II, but alas the grass isn't always greener on the other side of the fence. But, then again that's part of the fun. It is a hobby, right?
