That's what Bell would have you believe too. They will tell you that the receiver won't take the latest software updates and all kinds of other things. Its all crap. I've had my receiver operating just fine for years and never had it connected to the phone line - simply because I never order PPV movies. On installs I think I can count on one hand the number of people that actually have a phone jack anywhere close to the TV...
