Hi
I'm confused re what you mean above. I don't think that anything said that DiseqC switches were the same as 22KHz switches. I think there is some mis-interpretation of what was said, but I'm not sure where.
Although slightly off topic, the DiseqC switches do actually use 22KHz. The diseqc commands are modulated on a 22KHz carrier, but after the signal is sent the carrier is removed if the receiver isn't sending out a 22khz signal for other reasons. But as you say 22khz switches are different from diseqC switches.

Anyway, it was already cemented into the ground, so I ended up getting a 4' piece of 2.5" pipe (slightly larger than that on the outside diameter) and used U-Bolts to clamp it to the side of the bigger pole. It took a while and it's VERY tight, very rock solid and holds the dish (only about 75 lbs) very nicely. I was worried there for a bit though!

I assume this wasn't possible due to the particular type of pipe you bought, but if you use schedule 40 pipe, I think that generally the next smaller size usually will fit inside the larger size. If you got the U-bolt thing to work, then fine, but I think I would have tried to find pipe to fit inside your pipe.

But slightly off topic here, since the topic of having a plumb pole has often come up, my first dish, back in the mid 80's had a neat device. It was basically a piece of pipe one size larger than my pipe that slid down over my pipe, and it had a flat square plate welded on top (sort of looked like a graduation hat), and there was a rounded hole drilled partially through in the center of that square plate, and a big ball bearing sat in that hole. Then on top of that was another similar flat plate with a hole in the center, this one upside down, with a short section of pipe on top for the mount to attach. Basically, these 2 square flat plates had holes at each corner for bolts, and by tightening them in different orders, you could level the upper flat plate. Ie the upper plate was supported completely by the big ball bearing, and could tilt in any direction a few degrees. The upper plate actually came with a level welded on. This is something that any of us can make or have made for us with the help of a welding shop. It would allow us to level an out of plumb pole, and will allow you to change the size of the pole up at the top, by having a different sized pole welded to the upper flat plate. I don't have that arrangement anymore, but I've been thinking of going back to it. I'm just posting the description here to give people who have a pole already set in concrete, which isn't quite right. This is a way to make it right.

BTW, when I said BIG ball bearing, I mean that it was something like in the range of 1/2 - 1" diameter. Ie real substantial.
