Hello all FTA buddies, I need your help in finding Telstar5 (97W) satellite.
I have been struggling with this sat for almost a month trying every weekend but failed to catch it. Here is what I got:
33" KU band dish
Invacom Quad Univeral
QPH031 LNBF
Digipower Motor
SG-2100
Diseqc 4-1 switch
Viewsat Ultra VS2000 receiver
I am in OK and my lat.=35.342deg N; long.=97.487W; so my set up on the motor elevation is 52.24 or 35.3degrees and my dish elevation is 24.4 (based on the motor setup instruction)
And here is what I set up on the receiver:
Satellite:
IA5 (97W)
LNB Type: Universal
LNB Hi: 9750
LNB Lo: 10600
TP Freq.: 11966
Diseqc: P1
Motor: USALS
Legacy SW: 4.1Dish1
I got about 85% signal and the quality fluctuated from 0 to 100%, not stable although I tried to tilt the dish up and down by hand to get the peak signal quality on the receiver menu screen. I never got a single channel with auto scan or blind scan.
I did get the 119W on the Circular port so I knew that I was on the right arch so I did not adjust the dish up and down any more and let the motor swing the dish west to east to aim at 97W but still could not make the quality stable and never had a single channel on the auto scan.
I swap to another receiver set up suggested by another forum member as follows:
Satellite: IA5 (97W)
LNB Type: Legacy Quad LNB1
LNB Hi: 10750
22KHz: ON
TP Freq.: 11749
Diseqc: P1
Motor: USALS
Legacy SW: 4.1Dish1
Still no luck!
One time I connected directly from the LNB to the motor without going through the switch and set the Legacy SW as NONE but still could not find 97W.
Anyone has a clue what I did wrong here? Any suggestion is welcome and I really appreciate your help.
Thanks,
"Desperate FTA Fan"
