SHVIA woes
Yesterday I found a letter from my landlord on my door.
Quote:
This letter is in regards to our resident John Doe. Permission is granted to install a satellite dish, [they highlighted and circled this next part] no larger than 18 inch. so long as the fixture is in NO WAY ATTACHED TO THE BUILDING STRUCTURE. If this policy is not followed, a member of management will remove it. If you have any further questions or concerns, feel free to contact us at (123) 456-7890.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation in this matter.

I figured I was pushing my luck with the 6 footer, so I took it down. The 80cm dish remains on its tripod until they convince me that their rule is SHVIA compliant or they act like they'll pull the "we can terminate your lease for no reason, you have 30 days to move" routine.
Of course the dishes were in an area I've always understood to be my "exclusive use", they even charged extra for my fenced patio when I signed the original lease years ago. I didn't even have to drill holes in the wall - I just helped plug the gap around the air conditioner's copper lines.
(Not that I didn't want to move anyway.)
