I don't think a Universal lnb would work, and you would need to get the maps off of C-band.

My understanding is that you should be able to get at least a DCII light or
maybe even a channel using the "generic" sats. Is this correct?
Also, if the Universal won't work would a standard LNB work?

A standard Lnb will work.

Have you tried this? So your saying a 10750 Mhz LNB will work but not a 10600 Mhz Universal????

I am afraid your 920 receiver is only setup for STANDARD KUband lnbf (LO freq 10750). I haven't tried one of those so can't tell you if you have any options to modify the LO frequency on it. But, if you change it to 10600, make sure you have the 22KHz tone turned ON ( on the 920 receiver).

Let say your 920 will allow you to change the LO freq to 10600, but does not allow you to change the 22KHz tone to ON, then you will need a 22KHz tone generator like the one found here (#17): http://www.sadoun.com/Sat/Order/Switches.htm

Of, you could just replace your UNIVERSAL LNBF with a STANDARD one and go from there. Notice LNBF SKEW is important as well.

Good luck and let us know how it works for you.

Since I am using the Fortec to handle polarity, can the Fortec send the 22khz tone required?
Remember, I am using the 920 through the Fortec pass thru port.

Thanks for the help

Yes you can use the Fortec to generate that tone. But remember, your Fortec receiver is setup for Universal LNBF. I am not sure if the pass through signal going to your 920 will be influenced with that.

Also, you want to make sure that your 920 is capable of 10600 LO frequency.

I got it working using the standard lnb. I can now get a DCII lock and 99% quality. I don't have a sub so I can't see anything but I am close.
Now my question is: currently I am parked on AMC3. There is a lot of PBS DCII FTA channels but I can't see any of them. Since I can't d/l the channel maps (no C-Band dish yet) I have been trying using the generics but no luck.
Is there some maqic trick to tune these?

Thanks

Brian
