C-Band for the apartment dweller

After a year and a half watching T5, Ohio News Network, and the occasional wild news feed, I want to see what's on C-band.

Alas, our apartment complex limits the size of a dish to just 100cm.

I have a Fortec 90cm dish with a Stab HH90 motor and Fortec quad universal LNB.

Is it possible to replace the Fortec quad universal LNB with, say, a Chapparal Corotor and get decent digital C-Band reception with my Fortec Lifetime Ultra?

I'm in San Jose and within the 41db footprint of many C-Band satellites.

doubtful c band requires at least a 6 ft dish. have heard of getting c band with a 120 cm dish but picture quality not real good. :mozilla_frown:

Yes , it is possable . If I could figure out how to attach a pic , I would show you a shot of a 90cm dish with a Chaparrel feed horn on a Stab HH100 motor .

Very little digital . Lots of analog channels , from pretty good to watchable if it was all you had to mostly snow .

Fun testing , but not for your main source of TV .

For proper C-band reception in you need a 8.5' reflector.

Did you use RG-11 or better for you wiring?
Did you take the elbow off the feedhorn that fed the Ku LNB?
Did you run it without the feedhorn cover on?
How far was your run to the dish from your TV?
How many diplexers and other db lossy splits were involved in the cable run?
Any inline amplification or preamps?

In other words, any details?
