HELP: PAS 9 C-BAND

Hello Since no one answer from Sadoun I will ask here.
I call many times but they always say they do not carry any C-Band stuff.

BTW this is what I order.

------------------------------------------
Fortec Star Lifetime ULTRA
180cm (6') Fortec Star Dish FS6D
B1S AT C-Band-LNBF Eagle Aspen
------------------------------------------

And I just want to receive NHK World from PAS 9 which is C-Band.
I am located at Edmond Oklahoma 73034

Here is my question.

Is this all I need? Receiver & Dish & LNBF?
This dish is big enough to receive PAS 9 from my location?

Also I coulnd't find any answer about how to mounting this dish at this forums. Any one have any advice about how to Mount this?
Strong wind here in Oklahoma. Any Advice will be welcome!

BTW about LNBF Polarization tilt (SKEW) How to do this with this LNBF I order?

This is What I need according to Sadoun Calculator.
Elevation: 31.5
Azimuth (Geographic): 125.3
LNBF Polarization tilt (SKEW): -41.5

Any Advice will be Welcome please help~! Thank you!

My guess is that it'll be a piece of cake for you.

The elevation isn't super low on the horizon I'm seeing PAS9 (Ku at least) down here in AZ.

You'll probably get you stuff together before all my parts show up but if not I'll give it a shot.

For skew on your fixed dish you simply rotate the LNB as is appropriate. '0' is straight up. You'll want to rotate it clockwise (facing the dish) that 41.5°. Just get it close and fine tune it when you see the signal .

Thank you for the advice.
Only problem is that with this LNBF
I can not tell which side is up and which side is down...
If I do not know the which side up how can I set up LNBF Polarization tilt (SKEW): -41.5?

Anyone please help...

This LNBF do not come with any manual..

I try last 5 hours with no sucess..

Level is 91%
qulity is 0%

What this mean?

Also on my Fortec Star Lifetime ULTRA How do I setup this LNBF?
As Universal? Standard?
Please help!

All that matters is quility. Signal / level means nothing.

Do you have the L.O. set to 5150?

I'm not familiar with that LNBF, but you might just have to experiment with clocking it until it works out.

Wow... Thank you for Quick reply...

I am still getting Qulity 0 with 5150

By the way is there any setting about Ku or C band?

ALso I made correction on Azimuth as 125.3-5(OKLAHOMA)=120.3

But still nothing..

I wonder may be my receiver not working with this Eagleaspen LNBF?
Hu... C-Band is hard stuff to play with... T.T

Any Advice will be very welcome!

Hi,

This picture will show you which side is up:

for LNBF settings: Try

LNB Type: Single or Single-S or Standard
L.O. Freq: 5150
22KHz tone:OFF

This is a Universal C-Band LNBf since it has an L-Band output from 950-2050 MHz:

It split the C band into 2 frequency segments and utilises separate local oscillators for each of these frequency segments. This LNB receives satellite transmissions from 3.7 GHz to 4.2 GHz. For the lower frequency band, the local oscillator operates at 5150 MHz. For the upper frequency band, the local oscillator operates at 5750 MHz.

Since the LNBF Scew is Minus, have you turn the LNBF CLOCKWISE 41 degrees? That means where the cable connects should be at 10:30

If you did the skew correctly and still no quality, try adjusting the dish elevation / azimuth.

Yes.. I did 41 degrees to clockwise.
I guess I need play a lot more with elevation & azimuth.

It is much hard than I thought..
Wooooo... It remind me of summer 1996... Try to catch G9 KU for 10 days and gave up -_-;;; Hummm..

Since Dish is bigger I thought C-Band I might have more chance..
But Guess not.... 0%..... Just 1 % could give me a hope.. haha..

May be I need rent SatHawk or Birdog from someone...
Do you know anyone who rent those?
Too much money for one time use...
Wuuuuuu T.T

I will keep on trying.
Thank you! ^____^

That's What I figure...

I am getting all those spanish channels..

---------------------------------------
58.0°W PAS 9

Elevation: 31.5
Azimuth (Geographic): 125.3
LNBF Polarization tilt (SKEW): -41.5
---------------------------------------

---------------------------------------
55.5°W Intelsat 805
Elevation: 29.6
Azimuth (Geographic): 122.9
LNBF Polarization tilt (SKEW): -42.1
---------------------------------------

Is 55.5°W Intelsat 805 more power than PAS9?
No matter how I move my dish I am getting only Intelsat 805...
Too Strong to avoid...
As you see on the angle on the top They are too close from my location.

What else can I do??

Oh... Hi....

I am in Oklahoma.
BTW repretel was too strong... I was getting that thing no matter what..
from very first installation.
It was pain... Until Thunder hit my neighbor's tree... ^___^

Now I am getting only NHK WORLD from PAS9 nithing else..
I try to receive few Korean Channels like YTN, ARIRANG from PAS9 but no Sucess... Don't know why...
NHK Qulity is 80% and everything else is 0%.

I guess it is luck or something... Once you get it you will getting it no matter what... -_-;;;

I am getting 8 same channel of NHK now... V, H , NTSC, PAL, huuu..
I try hard before for NHK that time I was only getting repretel on IS805.
Now I only get NHK.. -_-;;

Try little more I think you will get it..
Once you get it.. That will be the only thing you will getting it.. Hahaha..

BTW I am a simple person who thought once I have connection to satellite
I will also get all the channel on that Satellite... Guess Not..

Well Good Luck!

ALso Keep ask.. SO many good people with real skill at this forum..
Not me.. -_-;; but many are here who might be able to help you.

I learn something new today..
I am getting all the channel under FEC 3/4 but not 7/8
Error correction or something.

So I guess my dish & LNBF is not good enough for channel with 7/8 FEC.
Sad... -_-;;

Is there any recommendation for different LNB which might work?
Or do I need bigger dish also? Or even better receiver?

------------------------------------------
"FEC Forward Error Correction "

Only applicable for digital transmissions.
The FEC (Forward Error Correction) indicates how many Bytes are used for the actual signal, and how many for correction of errors. A FEC of 1/2 means that 1 Byte out of 2 is used for error correction, while a ratio of 7/8 means 7 Bytes are used for the actual signal, and only one for error correction.
A FEC of 1/2 gives as perfect as possible reception, since every Byte containing actual signal is controlled by another Byte checking it.
When a provider chooses a FEC of 7/8 it means he is not wasting any bandwidth at the cost of delivering a signal. The lower amount of error correction means that more sophisticated equipment at the receiving end (for example a more stable and sensitive LNB, or higher reserves with the dish) are needed compared to the same transmission using a FEC of 1/2.

Read some where else , some one was using a LNBF & they had to rotate it 90 from where they thought it was suspose to be , polarity was wrong , for some reason ?
