4DTV DSR 920 channel map ques

I have a dsr 920 that I had to do a master reset on because of a lightning strike that zapped programmed satellites. I used to use G0-9 but I have seen here that its in other places. Does anyone know for sure where the channel map and software upgrades come from? I get quality of 0 on all digital transponders 9 and higher and have heard its only on G1 now. If a master reset is done, this unit will never look for a digital channel on G1 ????Any help is appreciated
