My First BUD!

Hey everyone!

I finally will have a fully operational BUD this weekend.
I put an ad in the local paper and bought a used one for
$300. Ok, I know I may have found a free one but I didn't
get many responses from the ad and I was growing impatient.
It's a 10' Channel Master black mesh - with very fine holes
so Ku should rock (I hope).

I just completed cementing the pole - man, what a big job!
Took about 19 bags of cement but glad it's done.
I'll let her dry up nice overnight (I bought the quicker drying stuff)
and then for the strenous part, getting the mount and dish on top.
Wish me luck!

I also have on the way a brand new C-Band 15 degree LNB
and a brand new Ku LNB. I bought the best I can find.
Oh, 100' of ribbon cable too!

I am excited! I have the 920 4DTV and Fortec Ultra all ready to
surf the skies!

If anyone has any good advice for this beginner as far as
final setups, setting limits, actuator mounting, etc... please
let me know.

I'll keep anyone who might be interested (or just needing a post
to doze off too) informed when it's all complete.

Thanks for the info.
The geo orbit website I have bookmarked already. That's the
greatest website for all the tuning stuff and I know I'll be printing
out a lot of pages (wish he used a different background though...I
might save some pages and use my own).

I'd rather not have to deal with a dealer but thanks for the link.
This project has already gone well over budget

I have a question if anyone can help.
On a dual band feedhorn, does the position I put the feedhorn
in matter? In other words, should the ku lnb be facing a certain direction
when the dish is in the centered position?

I am almost done. I just need to mount the actuator but I am waiting for
someone to come by to help me. I tried by myself but holding the dish up
while trying to mount the actuator is difficult.
