I have to install a dish prime focus 180cm at my church, the roof is rubber and flat, which would be better for this case? Polar mount or ground mount?
Thanx.
it depends if you are only aiming for 1 sat go with the ground mount if you are looking to get more than 1 sat you should go with the polar mount.

Oh wow. You have yourself a big issue here. There are simple post mounts used with about 8 concrete blocks that can be used for small 36" motorized dishes, but nothing really for a 6 ft. dish.
The 6 ft. fixed dish has a stand with a hoop at the bottom that could be attached to a roof, but the whole system would have to be done by a roofing professional and would cost $$$. The 6 ft. motorized system with the polar mount would require about a 3" diameter steel post and this too would require a professional installation with work done to the rubber roof. The pole would have to be securely anchored to the roof structure. You are using much too big a dish for DYI installation. You see, the wind loads on the 6 ft dish exert at least 4 times as much force as they do on the 3 ft. dish and the anchoring of that system needs to be much stronger.
Can you mount the dish on the ground? Can you anchor the 3 ft pole on the face of the building? These are some options.
Good luck.

That sounds good to me. The problem is assembling such a system. I have the bottom mount from an old system and that this is really heavy. The panels were very large and very heavy as one unit. How would you ship it?
