the cheapest way to go would be a BSC-621 lnbf. but if you already have a feed horn that will do both c band and ku I would recommend the Norsat lnb's a bit pricey but hard to beat. see my signature for the types I am using.![]()
hi all i have a six foot perfect 10 mesh dish and a sonicview elite receiver which was given to me by a friend who said" see if you can make this work". so, how do i make this work.i need an lnb.is anyone out there using this setup? if so what lnb.i have an advantage in that i upgraded this from a fixed G5 system to a motorized dish. ill be using my old tracker 40 to drive the dish, its pointed in the right direction so i need the experts on here to point me in the right direction as well.will any old lnb work for ku band or do i need a realy good lnb.from what i read the invacoms are the best.i helped to install this dish 20 years ago so am not totally helpless here but before i go in over my head and budget what will work?and what do i need?

thanks again for your reply your posts seem to be both informed and helpful.ive looked at the bsc-621 and read some reviews and while some like em a lot dont.i notice that you use the invacom lnb and im leaning that direction because the qpf-031 with feed horn looks like a c-band which im familiar and comfortable with lol. plus i havent read a bad review on these lnbs. am i misinformed and just stuck in my old ways or are they the better lnb? are you using your qph on a prime focus dish?when we installed this dish 20 years ago i didnt go with a ku lnb because i was told the dish was too small for ku,and yet i see these pizza dishes all over the place. the only thing i can assume is that its either a stronger or different type of signal or the lnbs are better or both lol.ill tell you up front that i dont understand ghzs and bandwidth although ive read about em.all the c-band signals are gone off my old dish and i miss the fun of the old days with wild feeds and the channel surfin. i didnt mind changing sats and all the"hassle" of BUDs.im thinkin the qpf-031 because its both linear and circular, and while only nasa is circular who's to say what the future holds, and if i install that 1 all the bases are covered, rite??
yeah I am using the qph on a 36 inch offset dish it works great no problem been working for a couple years now. are you only interested in ku? or do you want both c and ku.
ku band, because as i understand it,while c-band is the still the main carrier,we cant pick it up.rite?not like in the old days.he gave me an old circular lnb, but i dont want to go in that direction im interested in fta.c-band as we knew it is gone is it not?so there really isnt much use in the future for a c-band set?
Depending on the size of the mesh, it may be a very poor reflector of KU band, which is much higher frequency than C-Band.
For example, I have a 10 foot Unimesh with a 4 mm mesh size and a BSC621-2 C/KU LNB. It is very poor for KU band. My 90cm solid metal dish gets about 5X more KU channels than the Unimesh/BSC621.
But I just bought a motor and GBox V3000 for the Unimesh and I'd like to not have to buy another motor/controller for the 90 cm dish. I wish there was an inexpensive way to convert my mesh to a solid reflector. Then it would pick up both C and KU.
Some people may say C-Band is not worth it, but I enjoy it for getting the major networks (ABC,NBC,CBS,FOX) on G-16, so I can view prime-time shows 3 hours early (I'm in California).
Anyway, hope this info helps.
You most in-expensive sollution would be to purchase a motorized 90cm dish from us. ($145) complete. I agree with everyone elses input, good advise for you here![]()

I would consider it, but I ordered a GBox and actuator from you guys on December 11th and it took 30 days to arrive. There was no indication when I ordered it that it was not in stock. My un-motorized BUD sat there for 30 days waiting for parts. But now that I finally have them, I'm happy with their quality.
first i would like to thank all who responded to my post the weathers been bad here for a week or so and couldnt get online.rainman probably knows if hes in w.kentucy.deal on the receiver fell thru.his wife wouldnt let him give it away lol.what ya gonna do with em.anyway since i had gotten interested in my old bud again i went ahead and ordered 1.its on its way finally and i can barely contain myself lol.probably will go with the 621 and check out all the c-band stuff as well.may be gettin into a big headache or fun or both lol.next i need switches and a slave kit for my old tracker or go with the g-box??????
