6 ft would be the smallest to have a good chance at receiving the most signals. but some have gotten some c band signals on a 1.2 meter.

A belated happy new year to you as well. The absolute smallest I have seen work is a 90 cm dish for C-Band but it only receives a small percentage of the signals on a particular satellite. It seems folks do a little better with 1.0 Meter and much better with 1.2 Meter dishes. Those with 6 foot dishes claim to get in excess of 80% of the signals on a satellite and it seems that you need something around 8.5 feet to be able to avoid adjacent satellite interference when C-Band satellites are located 2 degrees apart. So to be certain, go bigger than 8 feet but if you just want to experiment, around a meter is where folks indicate some reception. Good luck and keep us posted on your efforts!

Cool C band size

A 6 footer dish is probably the most economic and practical size to get lots and lots of channels throughout the arc.
Yes, it is true that smaller sizes have been tested, I have personally tested 76cm and I can get NSS806 and PAS9.
A small dish 120cm or smaller gives you the pleasure to say that you tried it, but not practical at all.
With my 6 footer I have not had problems with adjacent channel interference.
I'm very happy with my C band dish, and I truly believe is the best investment I have made for entertainment.

Yes... I IBID BYX....

I have a solid 6footer and it worked great to receive all the C-Band FTA stations available. I don't think I couldn't receive some stations... It seems I hit all the FTA listed on LYngsat. I was amazed. It was even dented when my neighbor accidentally dropped it and rolled down the hill.

If you are further north than I am, then you may do better with a bigger dish but I would mess with anything smaller. If you spend all that time, money and effort setting it up, you want it to work for you.

there is a good thread on this site about some people who used a Fortec offset 4 ft dish. But as mentioned above, they didn't get all the stations.

Is there a particular channel that you are trying to get or is this just a general question?
