Question Strange C-band problem

We are having a very strange problem with the C-band dish at work. We have the LNB split between an analog receiver and a digital receiver. The digital receiver works fine, but we don't get any analog reception even though an adjacent system works. I slaved another analog receiver off of the IF output of the digital receiver with the same results.

I should note that the analog receiver does work on some birds, and that the good folks at the NOC put up a test pattern for us to align to.

Now the fun part. It appears that the digital stations are at the high end of the C-band of the bird (G11). Other than the wasp nest in the LNB, can anyone give me an idea of what could be sitting on TP4 for C-band?

I do battle with the wasps on Saturday morning...

what type of feedhorn and lnb are you using? if it is a lnbf then you would have to leave the digital receiver on to control the polarity and power the lnb.

Found the problem i think

I haven't been able to dig into the LNB yet, but we did some checks today. It appears that the wasp nest is attenuating the signal enough to squash the analog channels while still having adequate signal for the digital channels.

I have a replacement C-band LNB with rotor on the way from a friend (used) and will let you all know what i run into when i get up in there.

thats strange because it will usually take out the digital before the analog.
