10' dish with 2 lmb's

I have a 4dtv receiver connected to a 10' wineguard dish that has a chapparal co-rotorII C/ku lnb. I have had this forever, and it works great. I just purchased an viewsat ultra FTA. I would like to utilize the big dish for FTA. I know my lnb is linear. Is it possible to add a circular lnb to the dish and use the slave kit from Sadoun to move the dish and receive sats with circular signals? thanks

Not quite sure about answering this. I'm guessing from what you've said here that you don't know what FTA implies. FTA refers to DVB channels that are not encrypted, and as such can be received by any DVB receiver. There is very little FTA on the circular Ku sats, as most everything there except for NASA, GOL and some audio is encrypted. Most true FTA is on the same linear sats that you watch with the 4DTV, and you can get those with a slave kit or more simply just a simple "T" and a DC-Block that you can get lots of places.
Yes you can add a circular lnbf to your big dish, but the reception is likely to be poor since it won't be at the focal point of the dish.

So, perhaps the question, that is usually asked to posts like this..... what are you hoping to watch with this add-on lnbf?

2 lnb's on 10' dish

Thanks for the info. You are right, I am very new to FTA. I was under the impression that most FTA was on sats that used circular rather than linear signals. I certainly appreciate your response.

The confusion is due to those into the illegal pirating of the dishnet, etc, who make people think that those things are available unscrambled. The dishnet, DTV and Nimiq sats are indeed circular, so the pirates need a circular LNBF. The linear FTA channels are NOT going to be the same cable type channels you'd find on Dishnet or DTV. The channels you'll find FTA are things like network newsfeeds, various sports feeds, PBS, assorted NBC, ABC and CBS network feeds various 2nd teir networks, like CW, FOX, RTN and Univision from a bunch of towns, a bunch of religious channels, and a bunch of ethnic/foreign language channels.
