How does the DCII channels work on 920/922
I understand how the C band analog channels 1-24 work, alternating H/V.
But once you leave ch "24" and into the digital channels, and now these receivers have (example) Channel 600, 601, etc stuff like that.
How does this work? are they still H & V polarized?
Reason I ask, is I'm slaving a 920 off Ultra, because I control the positioning of the dish and H/V via it.
I'm just trying to understand how the "hundreds of channels" on 4DTV get defined and how to set the Ultra. Its easy with analog.
I haven't hooked up the 920 yet, but getting ready to do so.

There is some more you can get,but you may need to sub to at least one channel in order to receive them.I'm just learning a little on this myself, but if you posted in restricted area you might get more answers.Try G16.

I couldn't find my link to the actual channel maps, but
http://home.gt.rr.com/wdk9/dc2chan.htm
might help. It lists the major channels, and shows whether H or V.

thanks, that helps.
I'm finding bits and pieces on the 'net as I research this.
Is the Nebraska PBS still running on fixed DCII?
I could not get it in.
The other strange thing is on the sat with world harvest (or something like it on analog) - I get the same channel on the digital channel. It sits for a second, says "cant find channel, looking" then drops to the analog channel.

Signal should still be up on G25. At least for a while. Should be same parameters on both sats.

I have a current C band sub for 1 channel, Independent Film Channel - when it used to be on analog. I have no idea where it is now.
Will have to look that one up and see if it works on this box.
I did input my DCII box number into the program provider's web site, and ask for a rehit. I left the "hit" screen up on bloomberg's channel, but it never got one overnight. I dont think it got a hit either, as my time shows as California time. That should be a sure fire way to know if the box gets a hit, if the time changes to Eastern time.

I'm not sure, but I think you have to get new maps off G1 transponder 3.That may be for maps and guide.I think you can get just the maps off G5 if you can receive that sat. After downloading maps, you can get authorized off X4.I, read where people have subbed to GSN on X4 to get authorized. The polarity thing works the same way as H or V,in that a certain mux may be H and after going through that mux the next ch. may be on V,so you would change ch.on the receiver that controls the polarity.I think you can also download maps on G10.Hope this helps.

The channels on the 4DTV receivers are fixed not like the DVB receivers. You will probably find it best to rethink your system and allow the 4DTV receiver to control everything. They do flip from H to V but in groups not like in the analog where it is every other channel. As stated in a previous post you will learn far more posting into restricted areas. I highly recommend Satellite Forums: Part of the ZForums Network. and joinging the owners only area for 4DTV owners.

then I'd have to add stuff (ie: motek) to move the dish.
4dtv receiver wont move my HH120 motor as - is.

Well, it appears I'm going to have to shelve this DCII 920 project.
For some reason, while I was changing the lithium battery on the motherboard, it lost all the channel maps.
I was very careful with the process, it did not lose voltage. I still have valid DCII ID number... but no maps.
I cant get a lock on any satellite with the map download, while using my 4 foot mini-bud. I even brought the dish from the roof mount, down to the spot where I used to get G10R (now partially blocked by a branch from last ice storm). I could get some signal, but not enough to lock DCII.
Any DCII I can lock now, has no channel maps on it.
Bummer.

Channel maps are downloaded from G1 on a digital channel. It is either 131 or 133 (I do not remember) but think it 133.

There are multiple digital channels that have channel maps.
Most of the "movie channel" muxes.
It's just that they are either unacessable to me due to line of sight, or the dish I have is too small.
G1 is the for the GUIDE (and maps)

Wow being a 922 owner for several years I never knew that. If you check here:
Downloading 4DTV Channel maps at cband.winnfreenet.com
It says exactly what I posted along with every other return when you do a 4DTV channel map download request with Google.
