NOAAPort - C-band and setup question(s)

I am totaly new to this, and just purchased a Fortec 180mm circular dish, LNBF-stacked (Eagle Aspen) and a Novra S75 receiver.

Just wondering if anyone is doing the NOAAPort weather feeds with a similar configuration?

Our dish arrived with the scalar ring missing for the LNBF so we can't get that connected yet (anyone know of alternatives? looks like the LNBF is at least 60mm and the included mount doesn't work)?

Are there are alternative LNBs for this dish that mount properly? alternative adapters?

Any tips of information about how to get this setup and started would be appreciated///

NOAAPORT question

Daniel,

I am interested in what you learn about NOAAPORT. I have an S-band EMWIN earthstation and I'm interested in NOAAPORT. Please share what you learn.

No Luck yet. I think that in PA, a 1.8m dish is too small. Talked to some folks at Unisys that put together a major offering for NOAAPORT reception and data collection. They are telling me that we really need 3m or better (3.7m)......

We kept trying for a few weeks with the 1.8m dish, and thought we were on track but could never get a signal/lock.....using just the Novra S75 and the dish is very difficult to line up..... and... there are misleading web postings about the frequencies to use, and lining up the LNB properly has been really tough.

We will likely blow the extra cash and get a bigger dish.... and hire someone to aim it properly for us. The NOAAPORT products (data) appear to be more extensive than the EMWIN (Nexrad and satellite images)... which are what we wanted when we started....

I'll update the thread if/when we learn more (and maybe get a signal lock)!
