so what is that, a fixed polar mount?

Or can it be unbolted, and accept a linear actuator?

help me understand the options,

1) 180 fixed dish, cut pipes and install the motek 180 H-H positioner.
Need V-box to drive it from an Ultra?

2) 180 polar mount, install $49 linear actuator, driven wiht V-box from Ultra.

Right?
What's better from one option over the other?

If I can figure out the best optioning, I'd like to get one before the price goes up...

Both are good options.

H180: +/- 80 degrees rotation, more expenive, limited by weight of dish.
Actuator: Less rotation ( I don't have the figure), cheaper, and weight of dish is not critical (since you can get a Heavy duty actuator instead of Std duty)

BTW, you can use the Polar Mount style 180cm dish with an H180 motor. But you will have to separately get/make the two L or Square brackets that attach the H180 to the dish.

Thanks...

I still dont see how the H180 postioner can be used with the polar mount.
Aren't the exclusive of each other?

THe H180 mounts to the pole, and attches to the (newly made) L or square brackets for the dish.

The polar mount slips over 3" pole. Wouldn't that get in the way of H180, and only allow what your graphic shows, with linear actuatuor?

Right?

If you use H180 motor, then you should remove the whole Polar mount as you won't need it.

But if someone is going to use the H180, I would recommend they purchase the stationary 180CM dish instead of the 180CMP (w/Polar Mount)

Iceberg,

you use 6 footer on C band with a cheapie LNBF (IIRC) 421 type unit.
I'm using the BSC-621-2, which I'll change to regular 621 eventually I suppose.

I'm finding the 4 foot mini-bud just doesn't cut it. It's close, but not being able to lock on 91W/Ch24 to download the maps is driving me nuts on my 920 receiver.
I can lock a couple of the H transponders on 91, but not the one at 24V.
What kind of signal quality do you lock on Ch24 digital with the 6 footer?

What kind of picture quality do you get for Doc Scott on 87W? Any sparklies at all? (I get some).
