A big dish or for that matter a small C band dish is out of the question. I have no place to put it and even if I could I don't think I can get away with it. So, before I go out and spend a lot of money getting this system I would like to hear from you guys whether or not it is worth exploring. I have heard that you can get C band channels with 1.2M dish my question is, what are you guys getting with this system?
Receiving C-band with a 1.2M is like receiving regular Ku with a 15" dish.
I think most of those who have had some success have either been receiving sats which don't have neighboring sats 2 deg away, and/or sats putting out much more power than most CONUS C-band sats. It's probably possible to receive some signals even on CONUS sats, but I really don't think you'll be happy with the results. If you enjoy experimenting, sure, go ahead and try, but if you want someone to tell you that it is certain that you can receive particular channels, I don't think that will happen, because even if it is possible today, it may not be possible tomorrow, if something pops up to interfere on a neighboring sat.
