I tried several different remote extenders and they all had the same problem of blinking when no remote was being used. I found the problem was something from my entertainment center was emitting an rf frequency which made it blink!
That is I removed power from everything on my entertainment center and the blinking stopped!
So this is silly that a remote extender would not be able to filter out rf noise from these things and you need to place it near these things!
I solved the problem by placing both of my rf extender units in metal boxes, removing the antennas, and running a coax cable between the two. (Faraday cage around the whole works!)
They work just like a normal remote/receiver now - distance, etc. And no blinking when not using a remote.
