I used to live in Windsor, and they used to have a dual celebration of Canada Day and 4th of July, with fireworks in the river between Detroit and Windsor. Pretty impressive show, because sitting on the Canadian side of the river, the sounds bounced around all the buildings in Detroit, and the echos would last forever. I think the year I was there, it was July 2nd, although I think that was because it rained on July 1, I'm not sure. I assume they are still doing that.
