TV Fanatic...

G'day Mates,
Greetings from Far Western Maryland, in the mountains named Allegany, in the States United in North America.

I have for so many years wanted to receive Satellite TV via c-band, but I never had made the $5000.00 investment. (Besides my wife says no BUD!)

Four years ago we signed onto Directv and finally I had a Satellite Dish. (Now it is to expensive to keep it.) I still enjoy looking looking at the 18" dish bolted to the wooden 4x4 post that I lovingly concreted into the ground with the hopes of having some TV signal coming into the house. When I installed the small dish and fine-tuned everything, it worked like it was promised. I don't think that I slept well for a few nights.

A few months ago I saw bolted onto the side of a house a 3 foot dish with the words "Fortec Star" on the face. I googled fortec star and found out that having free to air Tv didn't mean having to have a 7' dish any more. With the technology of 1996, we now can receive, in our homes, with a small investment, Television from Space! (echo "Space" 3 times).

While Googling stuff about Free to Air I came upon the Sadoun Store and the Forums. Naturally I signed up to read and post, so that I can learn as much as I can about Television from Space! (no echo this time).

I am going to purchase the equipment and post questions and finds very soon. I hope to be an asset to all of the fine people that read and post to these forums, as you folks have already been a big help to me with the few questions that I have had.

Thank You Very Much
powrline (Bill)
