Are you talking about
Sirius the satellite radio service, or FTA? They are two different things. My guess is that you meant "serious" ?
If so, FTA satellite does not need a subscription. That's why it stands for "Free To Air". However, you will not be able to get channels like HBO, Showtime, etc. You need Dish Network, DirecTV etc. for those. With FTA you can receive a lot of interesting channels, though.
