Strength 60%-80%, Quality 0%. Am I doing it correctly?
Hi Gurus,

I got my vp-1020, a 90cm dish and a stardard dual LNB from Sadoun last week. Spent the whole weekend trying to lock the signal on AMC4 and got very disappointed. All I got was 60-80% strength and 0% quaulity in VisionDTV. I used a $2 compass and SF-95 finder to align the dish. The dish is amounted on a veritcal pole. I have a pretty clear view to the satellite.

Questions:

(1) Here is the LNB setting that I used. Power = on, Freq1 = 10750, Freq2=0. Is this correct?

(2) Do I need to select a transponder , its frequency and symbol rate matter when I try to align the dish? The transponder info from the VisionDTV is different from lyngsat.com.

(3) I am also wondering if any of the components is defective.
