Here is my question... can a
SG2100 be lubricated with say wd-40 or hi temp grease? I have had mine over 2 years in the elements with no maintenance. I know this would "void the warrenty" but after 2 years I am not concerned about an experied warrenty.
Now my tips....
Of course make sure post is plum.
Choose a spot where you can get a nice view of the south to southeast. this means no trees...etc. It really is alot of space to cover the arc range is big.
When 119 is your true south... It is very helpfull to have a fixed dish network dish already pointed to 119. (the dish can be used as a refrence as to physical position ie elevation).
Make sure that you have a current and live non
HD transponder while looking for the sat.
Not all recievers are good at finding sats under the USALS protocol. Viewsat comes to mind. Use 1.2 user defined for setup and initial scans... Then try USALS
Try minor tweaking to tighten down the arc... Elevate dish 1degree lower moter 1 degree... this type of fie tunning should be done to help with sats on the ends of the arc.
NOT all sats will be at max signal... ku ban comes in at 50% Dish and others such as Bell come in at 75% on some trans 100 on others you millage will vary.
Hope this all helps...
