what I did was watch the DVD through the notebook with the PC hook up for the TV and the
SPDIF going to the home theater receiver. the DVD might not be blu ray or
HD DVD but it was upscaled to 1080P. it was far better believe it or not than the 1080I upconversion DVD player I have. I just stumbled on this little trick reading through the manual of the TV on a bored sleeples night. like I said, I'll go with one or the other eventually when the prices come down and they take to be the standard. right now I own 400+ movies, I'm hoping the they sooner or later make a DVD player to go 1080P or bettter. dont get me wrong, the upconversion to 1080I isn't bad by any means but it lookes alot better through the notebook feeding the TV @ 1920 x 1080.
