I've been reading about Tivo and I got used one, Series 1, Sony - SVR2000.
I did not get IR Blaster with it.
I connected FTA to Composite RCA input and Dish Network(DN) - to RF input.
I went through "Guided Setup" and it looks like there was no FTA option for satellite receiver, only for
DTV and DN lineups. I don't want to subscribe, and use this box just like a VCR. Also it's allowing to "Pause" and "Replay" as it's doing a temporary recording while showing "LiveTV".
I had problem switching between inputs, especially, when switching from DN to FTA, - opposite is easy, just have to switch to ch.3 where RF input is.
Finally, in "Received channels" menu, I selected two channels: one (ch.3) from "antenna", another (ch.2) - from bogus DN lineup. Unfortunately, when I push "CH UP/DOWN", it gives me a black screen. However, it is possible to change input from RF to Composite by pressing "Tivo" button, then scrolling to "Watch Live TV" option.
If someone knows any other method, please share it with me, I could not find anything in instructions, because they assume, I have IR blaster.
