Is there a normal or assumed "field of view" from the dish location that would help identify potential sats?

For example, assuming I'm at about 39 N, 84 W, does that mean that my potential sats fall within about 71 W to 105 W ?

Sorry for all the questions, just trying to make sure I'm on the right track!
depending on line of site trees, hills buildings, etc. from that longitude you should be able to see from 30w to 137w.
